Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have not got my periods for the past three months. I consulted a gynecologist; she gave me a tablet of Deviry 10 mg for five days. Although I have completed my course, I still have not got my periods, even though I was not sexually active in these months.

Please help.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have observed your case, but it would be better if you sent your detailed history of medicine and gynecological visit. Please take tablet Divery 10 mg (Medroxyprogesterone Acetate) twice daily. As you have already taken it, wait for bleeding for the coming week. Few medications and hormonal imbalances, contraceptives, illness, strict diet, strenuous exercise, sudden weight gain, or weight loss can delay periods. Prolactin, GnRH (gonadotropin-releasing hormone) analog and few other medications can delay periods. You should get treatemnt for any health issue. If the periods do not come in the coming weeks, then consult your gynecologist.

My advice:

Consult your specialist doctor, talk to them, and take the medication after their consent.

  1. Tablet Primolute N 10 mg (Norethisteron) twice daily for seven days.
  2. Wait for periods for one to two weeks.
  3. On the second day of the period, please go for a blood test that includes prolactin, testosterone, insulin, progesterone, FSH (follicle stimulating hormone) and LH (luteinizing hormone), and thyroid function test.
  4. Transvaginal scan after periods.
  5. Also, have combined oral contraceptives for three months to regulate your cycles.

I recommend a healthy balanced diet and daily walks for a normal BMI (body mass index). You should also have less salt, sugar, oil, and spices in your diet.

Thank you.
