Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I have a 13-year-old daughter who learned that she is congenitally missing a top premolar. She is starting braces and I am being asked whether we want to save the tooth or space for a future implant when she is older, or whether we would like to remove the tooth now and shift the molars over.
What are the pros and cons of each?
How do you choose the best result?
Thank you.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I would suggest you go for extraction. And fill up the same by moving the molars over.
By creating space there would be much space for us to align the upper teeth perfectly.
There are no cons as such. I can see only the pros like space for aligning the whole of the upper teeth and retaining it.
Thank you.
