Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I cannot focus and need to remember things. I always feel tired. I am such a moody woman, and I have a daughter who is 18 months old.

Thanks.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

You may have a major depressive disorder or underlying stress. There is non-pharmacological management for your depression, and you should follow the guidelines below to deal with it. It will help you.

  1. It will help if you exercise 30 to 45 minutes daily, like at least going for a walk. It will uplift your mood.
  2. You should do meditation for 20 minutes daily, sit in one place in a comfortable position, and try to concentrate on your normal breathing, do not stop or force yourself to control your thoughts. It will relax you and increase your concentration.
  3. You should eat healthy home-cooked food and avoid junk food.
  4. You must drink enough water.
  5. You should spend quality time with friends and family daily or do video calls if you are living away from your family.
  6. It would help if you spent time on creative hobbies like reading good books, writing journals, painting, drawing, and learning new skills or language or musical instruments.
  7. You should take enough seven to eight hours of sleep daily.
  8. It will help if you avoid tobacco or alcohol, or any substance abuse.
  9. Live your life, do not just spend it.
  10. Be bold and confident.
  11. If you still have symptoms that persist after following the advise for four to six weeks, then you need to start medications for a short duration.

You must do the following blood reports for tiredness: complete blood count, thyroid profile, vitamin B12, and vitamin D3.

I hope that you get your answer.

Thank you.
