Does bleeding after using the MTP kit in the fourth week of pregnancy indicate the termination of pregnancy?

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I was four weeks pregnant last month. Unfortunately, I experienced bleeding when I used the MTP (medical termination of pregnancy) kit. Does it mean that my pregnancy is terminated?

Answered by Dr. Reetika

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

If you used the kit under medical supervision, it is most likely that the pregnancy would have got terminated. Please tell me when did you take the last dose. I suggest you get a blood hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) or a urine pregnancy test done to ascertain the body's hCG levels. For how long did you experience bleeding? When was your last period? I just want to ensure that you are not confused between periods and bleeding due to the kit.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
