Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a student. I am 19 years old and weigh 119 pounds. I have a problem. After a few months, I face an issue every month. I experience nightfall only once in the entire month, while I spend all my time with positive people and in the library. So, I want to know if this is a health problem or normal. Please help me.

Hi,

I am delighted to welcome you at icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern.

Wet dreams, also known as nocturnal emissions, are normal. They can occur due to increased erotic stimulation, whether mental, physical, or visual, without engaging in sexual activity or masturbation. At your age, you will have good testosterone production, with approximately 20,000 sperm being produced every minute, leading to significant semen production. You need to release this through masturbation or sexual activity; otherwise, it may occur spontaneously when you are very relaxed during sleep. Since you understand the cause, treatment is straightforward. You can reduce the frequency of erotic stimulation by either masturbating or having sex. Ways to reduce frequent erotic stimulation include:

  1. Limiting the intake of caffeinated beverages and foods in the late afternoon. Consuming caffeine before bedtime can stimulate the brain and lead to erotic dreams.
  2. Taking a cold shower before bedtime to decrease excessive sensitivity in the genital region.
  3. Managing and controlling your stress levels, as stress can be a triggering factor for various issues. To ensure a peaceful night's sleep, it is essential to monitor your stress levels.
  4. Avoiding sleeping on your back or stomach, as these positions are known to lead to sleep orgasms. It is better to sleep on your side.
  5. Regular exercise to keep your body and mind relaxed. Excessive tension, anxiety, and physical fatigue increase the likelihood of sleep orgasms.
  6. Avoiding the consumption of erotic content, whether in the form of watching or reading, before bedtime. Such content stimulates both the body and mind, leading to wet dreams during sleep.

For a temporary solution, I suggest you use tablet Pari (Paroxetine) 10 mg once a night for 15 days. Consult your specialist doctor, discuss with them, and take the medicines with their consent.
