Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have been experiencing frequent nightfall, sometimes even continuously. These occurrences are primarily linked to naughty thoughts. Interestingly, this did not happen before, but now even slight exposure to such content or thoughts results in nightfall. Additionally, I feel a slight burning sensation on my penis after a nightfall and while urinating immediately afterward. I also have a navel displacement problem.

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understood your concern.

Wet dreams, also known as nocturnal emission, are considered normal. They can occur due to increased erotic stimuli, whether mental, physical, or visual, without involving sex or masturbation. At your age, there is a significant production of testosterone, leading to the generation of around 20,000 sperms every minute, resulting in substantial semen production. Releasing this through masturbation or sexual activity is essential; otherwise, it may happen spontaneously when you are in a relaxed state, such as during sleep. Understanding the cause makes treatment relatively straightforward. To address the issue I suggest you reduce the frequency of erotic stimuli or engage in masturbation and sexual activity and follow the below-mentioned instructions to diminish erotic stimuli:

  1. Limit the intake of caffeinated beverages and foods in the late afternoon.
  2. Take a cold shower before bedtime to reduce excessive sensitivity in the genital region.
  3. Control stress levels, as stress can be a triggering factor for erotic dreams.
  4. Avoid sleeping on your back or stomach, as these positions can lead to sleep orgasms. Sleeping on your side is recommended.
  5. Perform regular exercise to keep your body and mind relaxed, as excessive tension, anxiety, and physical fatigue can increase the likelihood of sleep orgasms.
  6. Avoid watching or reading erotic content at night, as these stimuli can lead to wet dreams during sleep.

For a temporary solution, I suggest you take a tablet containing Paroxetine 10 mg once a night for 15 days. I hope this has helped you. Kindly follow up if you have more doubts.

Thank you.
