Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I masturbated about four years ago. A year later, I started experiencing nightfall. Previously, I used to have wet dreams, but now, for the past year, I have been experiencing spontaneous ejaculation at night, even without wet dreams. These days, I experience nocturnal emissions every five to six days, and sometimes I feel pain around my testicles. I believe my penile nerves have become weak. I am finding it challenging to focus properly, and I have been losing weight rapidly. I am also experiencing hair loss. Can you please suggest some remedies?

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern. Wet dreams, also known as nocturnal emissions, are normal. They can occur due to increased erotic stimuli, either mentally, physically, or visually, without involving sex or masturbation. At your age, you have a high testosterone production, with approximately 20,000 sperm being produced every minute, leading to a significant amount of semen production. To manage this, you need to release it through masturbation or sex; otherwise, it may happen naturally when you are deeply relaxed, such as during sleep. Since you are aware of the cause, the treatment is straightforward. You can reduce the frequency of erotic stimuli or engage in masturbation or sexual activity.

Ways to reduce the frequency of erotic stimuli include:

  1. Limiting the consumption of caffeinated beverages and foods in the late afternoon and before bedtime, as caffeine can stimulate the brain and lead to erotic dreams.
  2. Taking a cold shower before bedtime can reduce excessive sensitivity in the genital region.
  3. Managing and reducing stress levels, as stress can trigger various issues, including wet dreams. Maintaining low-stress levels is essential for a peaceful night's sleep.
  4. Avoid sleeping on your back or stomach, as these positions are known to cause sleep orgasms. Instead, try sleeping on your side.
  5. Regular exercise and relaxation techniques can help keep your body and mind relaxed, reducing the likelihood of sleep orgasms.
  6. Avoiding the consumption of erotic content through viewing or reading before bedtime, as such content can stimulate both your body and mind, potentially leading to wet dreams while you are asleep.
  7. As a temporary solution, you can consider using Tablet Paroxetine 10mg once a night for 15 days. Consult your specialist doctor, discuss with him or her, and take the medicines with their consent.

Thank you.
