Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My penis is always hard when I am sleeping, and the whole night I feel discomfort. What to do, doctor? Would you please help me? Will it cause any problem?

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concerns. First of all, I like to inform you that nocturnal tumescence (spontaneous erection) of the penis or nighttime erection of the penis is an entirely normal phenomenon, and there is nothing wrong with it. These erections occur when your mind is at rest and mostly during certain sleep phases, such as awakening. I do not think you need to do anything other than stop worrying. I hope this helps you. Feel free to write back to me if you have more questions.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for your answer. My penis gets hard as soon as I am sleeping at night. I used to masturbate for a long time, but I stopped doing it. Is it the problem? Is it healthy to have a nighttime erection?

Answered by Dr. Ashok Kumar

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

The answer is the same unless there are any problems or symptoms such as excessive pain. I hope this helps you. Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
