Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have nose bleeding from time to time and sometimes it happens when I am under stress or pressure. Sometimes, it happens when I am relaxed too. I started to have this issue before five years. Then it got stopped suddenly and recently I have it while I am having stress. I have done a CT scan and I am waiting for the results. I do not have pain in any part of my head and headache. Currently, I am taking Tranexamic acid 500 mg. What to do?

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Nose bleeding (epistaxis) can occur due to many reasons such as trauma, deviated nasal septum, a blood disorder, hypertension, liver disease, and idiopathic cause. Sometimes epistaxis can occur due to hot summer or in a cold dry environment or under stress. When you have bleeding, you can lean forward and pinch your nose until the bleeding stops for 15 to 20 minutes. At the same time, you can apply ice over the nose. Most of the time, it stops immediately after doing this one. If it does not stops, then you need to go to the emergency. Avoid taking hot and spicy foods. Avid doing nose pricking and forceful blowing of the nose. Lead a stress-free life. If epistaxis occurs without any reason, then it can resolve spontaneously. You need to avoid having aggravating factors like drinking hot water or tea or frequent nose picking or blowing of the nose or sitting in a hot place for a prolonged period.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
