Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I had my wisdom tooth removal and cyst removal 20 days ago. After the surgery, my lower lip, chin, and teeth are numb, and I have a tingling sensation. What would be the cause? Currently, I am taking Renerve plus tablet every morning and an Aminerve plus tablet at night.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com. As you have undergone surgery for wisdom tooth removal and cyst removal, it might sometimes cause injury to the nerve (inferior alveolar nerve) underneath the wisdom tooth region. The nerve involvement is the cause of the numbness. Depending on the nerve injury, it might take time for the nerve to be repaired. The medications that you have been prescribed are for nerve repair. Tingling is a good symptom of recovery. Kindly wait and follow up with your surgeon. Hoping for your speedy recovery.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have numbness and tingling sensation in the lips and front teeth only.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com. You will feel numb in the regions of the injured nerve (half of the lips, half of the gums, and teeth). This usually occurs in the region of surgery.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
