Does being overweight cause long-term impact on my health?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 37-year-old male, and I need a solution for my excess weight. Despite trying different diets, nothing has worked, and I am currently weighing 182 pounds at a height of 5 feet 4 inches. I feel uncomfortable in my own body—none of my clothes fit, and I need more space to move around. I am not able to do anything on my own. I am worried about the long-term impact this could have on my health and life expectancy. I am seeking for the right solution to lose weight. Could you please provide weight management tips and ways to lose weight quickly and safely?

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

Diet alone is not going to be effective for weight loss. Regular exercise with the help of a weight loss fitness trainer is necessary along with a nutritionist who will do your physical examination and see if there is any specific cause contributing to the weight gain. The nutritionist will also then provide a meal plan according to the results of your examination.

There are several routes for faster weight loss including supplements, exercise, detox IV (intravenous), and drinks as well as surgery. However, getting a complete medical examination first to understand the cause of weight gain would help the doctor to prescribe you the right strategy accordingly.

You have taken your first step by reaching out here and asking about the appreciable options. I highly advise you to go for the physical examination and decide your approach after that.

I hope I have answered your question.

Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards.
