Oral Glucose Tolerance Test

An oral glucose tolerance test measures the body's response against glucose. It helps in the diagnosis of type 2 diabetes. Before doing this test, a sample of blood is taken from the patient. Then the patient is advised to drink a syrupy solution containing 2.5 ounces of sugar. After two hours, blood glucose levels are measured to know their range.
