Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am an 18-years-old female. My weight is 105 pounds, and my height is 5.4 feet. I underwent jaw surgery precisely two months before, and I am under treatment for Hashimoto's disease. Whenever I puff my cheek, I can feel some air or fluid moving in the cheek area into my left eye. I have had this issue for two weeks. My current medications are Lexapro and birth control pills. Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Based on your clinical history and symptoms, you seem to have developed an oro-antral fistula, which is a communication between your oral cavity and left maxillary sinus. This usually happens through the extraction of a tooth in the premolar or molar region. I suggest you to undergo a CT (computed tomography) sacn of the paranasal sinuses. The management of this condition will be evaluation by clinical examination as well as radiological imaging, followed by a course of antibiotics and an elective surgical reconstruction using local flaps. This would need a review with your maxillofacial surgeon as well as your ENT (ear-nose-throat) surgeon. Regards.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
