Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I got my tubes tied eight years ago, but I strongly regret doing that. Within a week, I was diagnosed with a cyst of size 1.9 inches in my left ovary and had surgery to remove the cyst. My question is, what is the chance of pregnancy after my surgery?
Thanks.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
Removal of the ovarian cyst will not make your tube reopen. On removing the cyst, all connections with our uterus will be tied and secured before they cut and take the cyst away. So chances of getting the tube to reopen automatically after this surgery are highly remote. Nowadays, there are many ways like recanalization by which your closed tubes can be reopened. In case that is not possible, and if you are very anxious to get a baby, you can undergo IVF (in-vitro fertilization), wherein your ovum can be fertilized by the sperm outside, and then the fertilized ovum can be introduced into your uterus so that you can carry your baby.
Regards.
