Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am posting my wife's report. She does not have any symptoms of stomach pain. She is going through a hair fall. She went to a gynaecologist to check her hormonal imbalance. She was advised to take a transvaginal scan. After checking that, we found the same as the attached picture. Please help

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have reviewed your case and the reports and understand your concern. According to the report (attachments removed for patient identity protection), the fibroid is very small. No intervention is needed for that, but the cyst is more prominent in size and needs some intervention.

  1. Has she done CA 125 (cancer antigen 125)?
  2. How many children do you have?
  3. Is there a family history of ovarian or breast cancer?

Please mention all the details so I can help you properly.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you for your reply.

We have a daughter. We may have plans for another baby. No history of ovarian cancer in our family. My wife has a small lump in her breast. The doctor said it was just a breast mouse. We went to a gynaecologist locally in my neighbourhood. She suggested laparoscopy surgery.

My question is, is the surgery essential? If yes, can we postpone for a month if the CA125 test comes negative?

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

You should do a 125 to rule out cancerous conditions. As the cyst is on the higher side and a complex cyst, she should undergo the cystectomy. You can postpone it for a month, but it is better to do it as early as possible because there is the possibility of a twisted ovarian cyst or rupture of the cyst. She should avoid heavy weight lifting and strenuous work to avoid a twisted ovarian cyst.

I hope this information helps you. Feel free to ask further queries,

Thank you.
