Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have been having slight heart palpitations. The side of my chest is tight, and pains to take deep breaths. Sometimes, there is a sharp pain, and my heart races randomly. Recently, these symptoms have worsened when I exercise. I am 18 years old, and I want to go to the emergency room and get this checked, but I am scared to ask my mom. I do not know if I have insurance. I feel afraid to sleep because of my symptoms. I do not know what to do. Please help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have read your query, and I can understand your concern.

If you are experiencing symptoms like chest tightness, heart palpitations, and shortness of breath, especially during exercise, seek medical attention as soon as possible. These symptoms could indicate a severe medical condition, such as heart disease or a respiratory issue. If you do not have health insurance, you may still be able to receive emergency care at the hospital. Many hospitals offer financial assistance or payment plans for uninsured patients. You can contact the hospital directly to inquire about their policies and procedures. It is understandable to be scared to ask your mom about going to the ER (emergency room), but it is necessary to prioritize your health and well-being. You can discuss your symptoms and your concerns honestly and openly. Explain that you are scared but want to ensure you get the care you need. If you are uncomfortable discussing this with your mom, consider reaching out to a trusted adult or healthcare provider for advice and guidance. In the meantime, try to manage your symptoms as best you can by resting, avoiding strenuous activity, and practicing deep breathing exercises to help ease chest tightness. If you experience severe symptoms or feel like you are having a medical emergency, go to the nearest emergency room immediately.

I hope this will help you.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
