How can I deal with my PCOS/PMOS problem?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have been having irregular periods, hormonal imbalance, severe acne, and extreme weight gain.

I have a history of PCOS/PMOS and I have been taking the tablet Lamotrigine and the tablet Serotia.

I would like to know how to deal with this condition.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern.

As you were previously diagnosed with PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome)/PMOS (polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome), the symptoms you are experiencing now are of PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome) likely.

PCOS/PMOS is dealt with medications but the most important thing is changing the lifestyle.

Along with medicines you need to make a few changes in your overall daily routine.

First and foremost is bringing your weight to a healthy level. This will solve half of the issue.

Regular exercise is very important. Also, adopt healthy food habits.

Food with fewer carbohydrates, fats, and more fiber is the best.

It will take time but these changes will definitely help resolve your issue. Make sure you avoid fast food and drinks that are full of carbohydrates.

The acne you are having might be linked to a high carbohydrate diet so adapt to a healthy lifestyle, that is the best way to deal.

Hope this helps you.
