What could be the reason for sharp lower pelvic pain, diarrhea, constipation, and bloating?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 21-year-old female suffering from sharp lower left pelvic pain. My period dates are nearby, and I had diarrhea, which turned into constipation and bloating. Also, I have had a sinus problem for the past week. The pain gets worse when I try to stretch. Kindly help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

There is some digestive system problem that is causing the problem. But to ensure nothing else, I would suggest getting a high vaginal swab, Transvaginal scan, per abdominal examination, complete blood count, and serum beta hCG (human choriogonadotrophin) to rule out pregnancy. I would suggest the following:

  1. Gargles with salt and steam inhalation for sore throat
  2. Soft diet and drink plenty of water.
  3. Regular exercise.

Thank you.
