Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

It has been four days since I have gotten my periods. I had a bit of blood coming out after I had put my finger in the vagina. I had unprotected sex. I have been getting my normal pre-periods symptoms but still no periods.

Thanks.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.

I am glad you chose icliniq for your medical-related queries.

I understand your concern and will try to help you with it.

As you have mentioned, it has been four days. So, what was your expected date of your periods?Finger insertion can cause injury to vaginal mucosa, so it can cause bleeding.

Thank you for consulting me.

You can always come back and reach me at icliniq.com.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you for the reply.

It was this month, and I have also gained 11 lbs of weight.

Answered by Dr. Khushbu

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I read and understand your concern.

Since the intercourse happened near ovulation time, chances of pregnancy are very high in your case. You shall go for beta HCG blood test to confirm any pregnancy so we can manage further as per report. Bleeding on insertion can be due to infection, injury or erosion over the cervix.

Looking forward to your response in order to help you.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you for the reply.

I have already taken a urine test, that has come out to be negative.

Answered by Dr. Khushbu

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I read and understand your concern.

Urine tests do not show results within two weeks. That is why I have recommended the blood test. It comes positive earlier, as it is a blood beta HCG test. If it comes negative, then you shall wait for a week to have periods. If you still do not get your period, then you should consider taking medication to induce it.Looking forward to your response in order to help you.

Thank you.
