Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

The skin covering my penis is cracking again after sexual intercourse. My blood sugar level has decreased to 230 mg/dL, and I desire to have sex at least once a week. Can you suggest any medicines to help heal the cracked skin on my penis? It is painful during intercourse with my wife. Kindly help.

Hello,

Thanks for trusting us with your health care.

I can understand your concern. It will be of great help if you can send me a picture of your cracks. You might be having phimosis or a fungal infection because these two are common causes of cracks. Can you send me a picture of your cracks?

I hope this has helped you. Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for the reply.

I have sent you the picture.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Thanks for your follow-up question on icliniq.

I have gone through the image you have attached (attachment removed to protect the patient’s identity). This is phimosis. The best treatment is circumcision surgery. Since you are diabetic, you may experience frequent infections. Do you feel pain while retracting the foreskin? Is there any discharge from the foreskin? Please reply with the answers to the above questions so that I can provide you with better guidance.

I hope this has helped you. Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for the reply.

Yes, I feel pain when foreskin cracking occurs. Yes, there is white discharge from the foreskin sometimes. I do not want to undergo surgery. Please suggest medicines or provide recommendations from your side.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Thanks for your follow-up question on icliniq.

I will give you some suggestions.

  1. Strict control of diabetes is needed.
  2. Start Cefpodoxime and Clavulanic acid tablets twice daily after some food.
  3. Start Enzoflam (Diclofenac, Paracetamol, and Serratiopeptidase) tablet twice daily after some food.
  4. Apply a cream containing Clotrimazole and Beclometasone thrice daily.
  5. Apply Betadine (Povidone iodine) ointment thrice daily. All for five days.

Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further.

Thank you.
