What is the reason for redness and minor bleeding of the tip of the penis?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have had itching, inflammation, and irritation on the penis head for the past week. There are no fluid secretions and no issues with urination. The foreskin looked tender and reddish, with minor bleeding, when the penis was erect. What could be the reason?

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for your query. I understand your concern. As you are uncircumcised, the foreskin is now adhered to the glans penis and will retract or retract with difficulty. This will lead to inflammation and irritation of the penis foreskin. This condition is called Phimosis. In this condition, the foreskin does not retract or will retract with pain. As a result, secretions accumulate under the skin, leading to itching, inflammation, and irritation. So, I suggest you to get yourself circumcised because it is necessary as you have developed Phimosis.

I hope this has helped you. Thank you.
