Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I am experiencing severe eye pain in my right eye that is radiating down into my jaw, to my neck, to my forehead, and my skull. My eye is watery, red, and extremely swollen, and I have developed extreme photosensitivity in the affected eye. I was told a few days ago that this was the pink eye but is pink eye supposed to hurt this badly? I have chronic pain and chronic migraines. I am used to being in pain. Is this bad enough to rival some of my migraines?
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
It appears to be bacterial conjunctivitis. Use Moxifloxacin eye drop six times a day for two weeks. Tobramycin eye drop four times a day for two weeks. Carboxymethyl Cellulose eye drops 10 times a day for two weeks. Polymixin and Chloramphenicol eye ointment at bedtime. Homatropine eye drop twice daily for the next week (will cause blurred vision). Kindly get a slit lamp examination to rule out uveitis and herpes virus infection.
