How to manage gagging cough and reflux after food?
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
Sometimes, after I eat, I get this cough that causes me to gag and sometimes I will regurgitate a little food. I also sometimes have this tickle in my throat. I am also constantly clearing my throat because of the drainage from the sinus down the back of my throat. The phlegm is usually clear and thick.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
From the complaints, it seems to be some nasal pathology causing a post nasal drip and repeated throat clearing. Please send me the picture of your throat and get an X-ray of the paranasal sinuses and send me the picture. Also, tell me what medicines you have been taking so far so that I can suggest you accordingly. Take care.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I take Amlodipine and Benazepril for blood pressure, Omeprazole for acid reflux and Statin for cholesterol.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
I have seen the pictures attached (attachment removed to protect patient identity). Both the tonsils are inflamed. I suggest taking: 1. Tablet Cefixime 200 twice daily and tablet Diclofenac plus Serratiopeptidase twice daily. 2. Capsule Pantoprazole 40 mg once daily. 3. Use Hexidine gargles. Take all for five days. Get an X-ray of the paranasal sinuses done. Take care.
Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
