Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am 45 and got pregnant from my second husband, but I had a child from my first husband, and I seriously do not know how I got pregnant at this age. That too, is it safe to have the baby? What is the diet I need to follow? Should I have intercourse with my husband? A doctor recommended keeping a nurse all day, 24 by 7, at the house and monitoring the baby. Should I go to work? I am 3 weeks pregnant. My husband's age is 32.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern.

Yes, you can safely continue this pregnancy with some precautions and with proper care. You should avoid intercourse, and you can safely do your work, but avoid strenuous work and heavy weight lifting. Start folic acid and calcium tablets once daily. Keep yourself hydrated. Take at least 0.7 liquid gallons of water per day. Have more green leafy vegetables and fruits in your diet.

Hope this information helps you.

Thank you.
