Hello doctor,

I am currently 16 weeks pregnant, and it is my second pregnancy. If I hold my urine for a while and then go to the toilet, I feel pain around the belly. Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

Urinary retention in pregnancy is due to infection in the bladder or urethra. Other causes could be due to fibroid in the uterus.

Do not worry, as it is not dangerous.

It would be best to take an ultrasound of the abdomen, pelvis, and urine culture and sensitivity soon. Also, follow up with the reports.

I hope this helps.

Thank you and take care.
