What is the chance of pregnancy after periods end?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I had my period at the end of last month, and I had sex in the first week of this month. Is there a chance that I am pregnant?

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

There are chances that you might be pregnant if you were sexually active. So, take a pregnancy test three days after intercourse. If the results are negative, I would suggest tablet Medroxyprogesterone acetate 10 mg thrice daily for three days, and then stop and wait for seven days. Otherwise, active urinary tract infections can occur, so drink more water.

I hope this helps.

Revert in case of queries.

Thank you.
