Is there a way to prepone or postpone menstruation?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am 29 years old and going on vacation. My menstrual cycle for this month is due. Is there any way that I can either prepone or postpone this? I always have regular periods and have never attempted to delay or prepone them, so I am clueless.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Yes, you can either prepone or postpone your periods. As your menstrual date is approaching so postponing periods will more convenient.

Talk to your specialist doctor, talk to them, and take medications after their consent.

Take a tablet of Primolut-N (Norethisterone) 5 mg twice daily. After stopping the tablets bleeding will start within a week. Sometimes after taking these tablets the following menstrual bleeding might get excessive.

Hope this helps.

Thank you.
