Hello doctor,

I am not able to concentrate on any priority task. I know if I do not do things, I will be in trouble, still I am drowning myself in doing useless things, wasting my time and it has been a very long time but I could not do what I am supposed to do. I have an advanced degree. I have knowledge about I am facing problems in concentrating on the actual job I am supposed to be doing instead I am wasting my time on screen or doing nothing but killing time and spending days. Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern.

Thank you for taking help from a psychiatrist. I do not find any psychiatric illness but it is more like you are lazy and consciously wasting your time. You need to make a schedule and stick with it. There is no treatment for procrastination and laziness. There is no meaning if you are intelligent but do not use it properly.

  1. Start doing exercise or join a gym.
  2. Reduces mobile use or limits social media use.
  3. Do meditation.
  4. Make a daily to-do list and finish it so it will motivate you to complete the task.
  5. Avoid alcohol and tobacco.
  6. Fix the sleep cycle.
  7. I hope that you got your answer.

    Thank you for consulting me.
