Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am attaching my blood reports and few test reports for your opinion.

Kindly advise.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

QTc interval is prolonged. Please reply to the following questions so that I may guide you accordingly. Do you have a personal history of syncope or a family history of sudden death? What medicines are you taking for anything? Please have the following labs also done such as serum calcium levels, serum albumin levels, and serum potassium levels.

I hope this helps.

Thanks and regards.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for replying.

I do not have a syncope. My dad died due to complications of dialysis. I have prescribed Fluconazole for infection and also had Bisoprolol for high blood pressure. I stopped both medications for a while.

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Fluconazole is a drug which can cause prolonged QTc interval. When was ECG done? During that period, were you taking Fluconazole? Or did you take ECG one or two weeks after completion of Fluconazole? Are your lab tests normal? Please repeat ECG if Fluconazole has been stopped for a month and send me ECG so that I may recognize the type of long QT if still present.

Kindly update us with the answers.

Thanks and regards.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thanks for your reply.

I was planning on repeating ECG. But with higher BP can I take the test?

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Thanks for the follow-up.

I went through your reports (the attachments removed to protect the patient's identity). Your tests including ECG are normal. So, no need to worry at all. Vitamin D3 levels were below normal but recent tests show normal levels. Do regular exercise, eat healthy foods such as Mediterranean diet. I hope this helps. Thanks and regards
