Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have been engaged in prone masturbation for several years and I am not able to do it in a conventional way. I am now worried that I may face problems in my sexual life or health later or even cause erectile dysfunction. Could you please suggest to me if there are any risks to prone masturbation and how to stop them? Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have read your query and understand your concern. Prone masturbation is also considered safe but this might lead to frictional injuries sometimes. Otherwise, it is safe and it does not result in problems like erectile dysfunction or any other issue like early ejaculation. You can remain relaxed. I hope you find this helpful.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you, doctor. I have one more follow-up question on this; How do a person know if they have ED (is it only when they indulge in sexual activities)? Also, could you provide some tips to bring down prone masturbation?

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

If during intercourse an individual is not able to penetrate as per his satisfaction then we evaluate for ED (erectile dysfunction). If you are achieving a hard erection during masturbation then there is no ED. You have to gradually desensitize yourself to reduce the frequency of prone masturbation. This can happen by gradually shifting to masturbation by hand and then reducing its frequency. This is not a disease so you have to make changes in your habit only. I hope you find this helpful.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
