Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am 18 years old, and I believe that I am malnourished. I think I lack protein, and I was wondering if I change my diet to incorporate and make up for the lack of protein and other dietary requirements, will I attain my ideal body structure, bone strength, and height?

Please give your suggestions.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I went through your query and understood your concern.

There is still time to add an inch to your height. However, I must say that it would not be too significant. Boys grow vertically till 18 years of age, so there is still time. However, you do need to take a protein-rich diet and also do stretching exercises and yoga. Also, skipping and swimming will help. It would be better if you elaborated more on what made you think you are malnourished. Do you have any underlying disease, a decreased muscle mass, or are you prone to frequent infections? If these possibilities do not correlate, then consuming a protein-rich diet can restore minor deficiencies.

Please let me know about these details so that it will help me figure out a definite treatment.

I hope this helps.

Kindly follow up with the details.
