Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My baby weighs 18.74 lbs and is 8 months and 3 weeks old. He has a reduced appetite and can stay the entire day without food. He has a cold and cough also. He was born with ptosis and is presently using some eyedrops, but sometimes, I see conjunctivitis around his eyes. Is there any special treatment available for his eyes? He makes some sounds while breathing and snores at night, but he is very active.

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern.

I suggest showing an ophthalmologist for ptosis (dropping eye). I do not think there is a need for eye drops in ptosis because frequent eye drops can lead to dry eye, which can cause irritation and conjunctivitis. Depending upon the severity, surgical intervention is needed to correct ptosis. Noisy breathing sounds and snoring often suggest upper airway obstruction, common due to enlarged tonsils. Avoid refrigerated foods and cold drinks. I suggest you consult an ENT (ear, nose, and throat) specialist if symptoms persist.

Hope this helps.

Thank you.
