Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My wife has been having lower back and rectal pain episodes for the past month, generally in the late evening. She typically needs to use restrooms within 30 minutes of eating to evacuate. Shortly after, she will experience intense pain and burning in her rectum and anus area, which will cause her to start crying. We lack health insurance. She has been receiving treatment for her health difficulties at the local health department. Proctalgia fugax was identified by a health department doctor solely based on a conversation with the patient about her current symptoms and with no physical examination. Reading up on this revealed that although she has been experiencing practically daily pain, it is a periodic pain that typically occurs three to five times a year. To treat the symptoms, the doctor gave her a Ventolin inhaler, which appears to help lessen the length but does little to ease her intense pain. It would be an understatement to say that I am worried about my wife's condition. Given our current insurance status, I am unsure of my options. Do you think she needs a CT scan? Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

Inflammation of the intestinal mucosa is a symptom of gastroenteritis, a possible infection. An infection with bacteria, protozoa, or a virus may bring it on. It is typically viral and self-limiting. Nausea, vomiting, soft stools, and frequent feces characterize Gastroenteritis. First, I suggest a stool examination and a microscope test to rule out the problem's etiology, such as viral, bacterial, or protozoal. Drink a lot of orange juice or coconut water, rich in electrolytes. For a few days, eat light, easily digestible vegetarian cuisine. Try to keep your stress levels under control. Incomplete digestion and the evacuation of unformed feces are caused by stress stimulating the autonomic nervous system, which also increases the peristaltic activity of the colon. Relax, this is not cancer. Fever was indicative of an infection, and cancer is a persistent disease.

I hope I have answered your question.

Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards.
