Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I have a 2-year-old daughter. She is breaking out with red dots all over her body. They do not look like measles or chicken pox. She weighs 30 pounds and has no other symptoms. I have tried giving her a child's allergy medication because I thought she might have developed an allergy to dog hair.
Please help.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I need more information to provide a quality answer.
Please arrange to complete a complete blood count (CBC) test at a reputable laboratory, including a peripheral blood smear to assess the platelet count, size, and clumping. Additionally, a coagulogram should be done from a blood sample.
Do not administer any medication at this time. Once you have the above information and test results, please consult with a child health specialist. The symptoms could indicate conditions such as ITP (idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura), other hematological disorders, allergies, infections, HSP (Henoch-Schonlein purpura), or other disorders that can present in a similar manner. We need to investigate these further.
Please follow up with the results.
Thank you.
