Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My 4-year-old daughter has been dealing with a cold, cough, and fever for the past three days. I am really worried about her. Can you please advise me on the best treatment to help her feel better? I gave her Paracetamol for the fever.

Hi,

I appreciate that you have chosen icliniq.com for your medical needs.

I am here to give you the best care possible.

For fever:

  1. Please check the child's temperature using a thermometer.
  2. If the temperature is 100 degrees Fahrenheit or higher, you can administer syrup Crocin DS (Paracetamol) 240 mg/ml (dose based on the child's weight) as needed, every 4 to 6 hours.
  3. If the temperature is 102 degrees Fahrenheit or higher, you can administer syrup Ibugesic (a combination of Ibuprofen and Paracetamol) (dose based on the child's weight) as needed, every 6 to 8 hours.
  4. If the temperature remains above 100 degrees Fahrenheit for more than three days or crosses 103 degrees Fahrenheit, it is advisable to seek a physical evaluation by a pediatrician, with possible blood investigations based on the physical examination.

For cough or cold, please administer:

  1. Syrup Levolin (Levosalbutamol) (dose based on the child's weight) twice a day for 5 to 7 days.
  2. Syrup Cetzine (Cetirizine) (dose based on the child's weight) twice a day for 3 days.
  3. If there is no improvement, the condition worsens, or the child experiences breathlessness, take the child to the nearest hospital.

Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further.

Thank you.
