Is it normal to not ejaculate during masturbation but experience nightfall?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi sir,

My age is 26 years. I tried to masturbate many times, but still, semen was not coming out. But, I have nightfall almost two times a week, and at that time, semen comes out. Is this normal?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

It seems that you have a dry orgasm.

It is not normal for a man in his middle age or above to be masturbating without ejaculation. It is possible that this is more of a temporary sort of issue in such men, but otherwise, it could be a signal that there is something serious going on in your body. One of the common reasons for dry orgasm, which has been identified by the researchers, is that in the case of middle-aged men, the situation is called retro-gradation of ejaculation. This means that when you are stimulating your penis, the semen which has been prepared for an ejaculation somehow gets directed in the wrong direction, and hence it does not ejaculate from the tip of the penis. It is also caused by hyper-sexuality, as a result of the body answering back with a dry orgasm. It can be urethral stricture or any obstruction in the testes.

I suggest you go for some tests:

  1. Doppler ultrasound scrotum.
  2. Semen analysis.
  3. Pre-ejaculate and post-ejaculate urine analysis.
  4. Retrograde urethrogram.
  5. After the reports visit the urology specialist for detailed evaluation.

    Hope this helps.

    Kind regards.
