Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My son tested positive for RSV two days ago, and he only had a temperature of 101 degrees celsius and no other symptoms. Today no temperature and no symptoms. Is it harmful or possibly beneficial for him to get him out for fresh air?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concerns.

As your son is otherwise doing well, you can take him out for fresh air, no problem.

RSV (respiratory syncytial virus) is a viral condition that behaves like a common cold and only requires symptomatic treatment. Occasionally, the infection may be prolonged or severe, so you must closely watch his breathing. If there is no breathing issue (as you mentioned, he does not have any symptoms), there is no need to worry. Give good food and plenty of fluids.

I suggest tablet Paracetamol as and when required.

No other medicine is needed.

Hope it helps.

Thank you and take care.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
