How can a 24-year-old male manage a long-term runny nose?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 24-year-old male. I have a runny nose and watery eyes. It has been there for many years. It is like some allergy, and I keep sneezing. When I take Montelukast tablets, it gets fine. But I do not like to take medicines every day.

Please help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I advise that you stop taking Montelukast (leukotriene blocker) tablets, and take Claritine (Loratidine) tablets for two weeks then stop. Take one tablet per day only when really needed after that. Avoid triggering factors for your allergy.

I hope that you get your answer.

Please let me know if you need any help.

Thank you.
