How to manage penis skin allergy symptoms?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am having an allergy for the last two weeks. This allergy only affects the penis and surrounding areas. Sometimes I have more allergies, and it creates a feeling like I have to cut this part of the body. When the body is dry, there are more allergies. Please tell me a cure for this disease.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. It looks like you have scabies, a condition caused by a mite. It cannot be seen by the naked eye, but only under the microscope.

Symptoms include intense itching, which worsens at night, and bumps are seen all over, but more prominent between fingers, around the axilla, and the presence of bumps over the male genitalia is almost always diagnostic. Please take the following medications and follow the instructions.

Apply Permethrin 5 % cream. This needs to be applied all over the body, below the neck at night, leave it overnight, and take a hot water bath in the morning. This should be repeated after a week for a complete response. So take two creams. If someone else in the family has this itching, they also need to be treated. You also need to wash the clothes and bed sheets in hot water.

Take tablet Levocetirizine 5 mg twice a day. Apply Mometasone furoate cream on the bumps twice a day. Please note that though you will see improvement in itching and redness soon enough, complete clearance might take three to four weeks. Take these for two weeks initially, then follow up.

I hope it helps.

Thank you.

Thank you.
