Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I had intercourse with my partner, who is suffering from scabies. I use Lindane lotion and moisturizer cream. I used it twice. Please recommend medication and soap to kill those mites. I am having severe itching and also take the tablet Atarax 25 mg.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

Do not worry. Use scabicidal lotion (Lindane and Cetrimide) for two consecutive nights, then wash it off with warm water the following day. Wear loose-fitting cotton clothing. All clothes should be washed in hot water and dried in the sun. Avoid using any cosmetics, cream, lotion, or oil. Avoid sexual contact for a while. Take deworming medications and take the tablet Cetirizine (Zyrtec) at night. Get a physical examination and an investigation to rule out any problems and treat them appropriately.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
