Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am 40 years old, my height is 157 cm, and my weight is 58 kg. Almost a month back, I was diagnosed with scabies. Red bump-like blisters had appeared all over my body. The dermatologist had prescribed HH lite cream with Ivermectin 12 mg. I applied the cream twice, along with the oral tablets, on the first and eighth days. I still use Calosoft lotion, but to my surprise, some bumps still appear on my body. And I still have some itchiness on my body. I also use the HH lite soap and apply aloe vera gel on the rashes, yet I do not have complete relief. Kindly help me, doctor.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have gone through your case. Firstly you need to understand that itching and bumps may persist for upto four weeks even after treatment of scabies.

Secondly, you may have missed following certain instructions properly, like-

  • Washing your clothes separately.
  • The other family members must also be screened for scabies and treated if positive.
  • You should repeat the lotion on day one and day two. This is because there may be chances that you have a reinfection.

Please attach a picture of the rashes to understand better if the lesion is scabies or something else.

Thank you.
