Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I met with a bike accident three days ago and had swelling in my left wrist. I have got an X-ray (AP, oblique) of the left wrist. Currently, I am on Combiflam and Rantac medications.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern, and I hope you are not in much discomfort. I have reviewed your X-ray images (attachment removed to protect the patient’s identity) and found a mild cortical irregularity in the area between the waist and distal pole of the scaphoid bone. It is suspicious of post-traumatic scaphoid bone injury or fracture. Please consult an Orthopaedician doctor with your X-ray for clinical evaluation. Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for the reply. Is that fracture?

Answered by Dr. Vivek Chail

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I suspect a non-displaced fracture in the scaphoid bone. There is a surface irregularity in a small part of the bone, and it is suspicious for a crack in the bone. This needs clinical evaluation to confirm the finding clinically. The doctor will physically examine the area over the bone for pain, tenderness, and inflammation. Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
