Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 34-year-old healthy male. I have noticed two flat purple patches or lesions on each side of the groin and a larger patch on the bottom of the scrotum. There is no itching or soreness. I have used a normal fungal steroid cream, and as that did not work, I have been prescribed Betamethasone. I am concerned if it is a parents skin disease. Kindly suggest.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern.

Based on the description given by you, it appears to be scrotal eczema or intertrigo.

I suggest you follow the below-mentioned instructions:

  1. Apply Clotrimazole cream (1%Clotrimazole) twice daily for 14 days.
  2. Apply 1 percent Desonide (Desonide) cream at night for 10 days.
  3. Use Cetrimide soap for two months.
  4. Avoid scratching and rubbing of lesions.
  5. Avoid activities that cause sweating.
  6. Keep the area clean and dry.
  7. Use Episoft cleanser (Purified water) to clean genitals twice a day for two months.
  8. Wear loose, comfortable, and thin cotton undergarments.
  9. Avoid chronic friction.
  10. Avoid injury or trauma.
  11. Avoid tight wear.
  12. Stay in a well-ventilated room or a cool environment.
  13. Avoid humid weather conditions.
  14. Wear boxers.
  15. Apply Aveeno (Octisalate) moisturizer if there is a burning sensation.

I hope this information will help you.

Thank you.
