Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I have two lesions on my groin area. I suspect I got HSV1 (Herpes Simplex Virus) lesions from receiving unprotected oral sex. The thing is, I am planning on having intercourse in three days again, and the lesions are not open. Would it be okay to have intercourse by then? I rubbed the lesions with spirit and did not feel any burning sensation, so I am confident they are not open. Also, what medications can I take to help get rid of the lesions? Kindly guide me.
Hi, Welcome to icliniq.com.

Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
Thank you.
I noticed it within the last week. I do not have any other symptoms. Below I am attaching a picture to show you how the lesions look like. They look a bit like blisters and feel firm. I am also planning on having intercourse in three days again, and the lesions are not open. Would it be okay to have intercourse by then? I rubbed the lesions with spirit and did not feel any burning sensation, so I am confident they are not open. What medications can I take to help get rid of the lesions? Kindly give your opinion.
Hi, Welcome back to icliniq.com.
They are harmless sebaceous glands and are not communicable (attachments removed to protect the patient's identity). In most cases, they will subside on their own, and if not subsiding, then you can get it removed by laser anytime. Since these are harmless, so no laser is recommended, but for cosmetic reasons, you can go for one. I hope this was helpful.
