Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I think I might be asexual, but I still want to feel sexual attraction. It is not that I hate or repulse the idea of sex. It just does not call me that much. I feel as if I am missing something by not feeling sexual attraction. Maybe this lack of attraction can come from fear or something similar. Or am I just asexual? I really want to feel attraction, and I feel that I am starting to obsess with the idea of not having attraction. I am 19 years old and have liked guys in the past. However, it has been four years since I had those feelings. Maybe I am emotionally numb too?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

From the information you sent, it seems to me that you did have a desire earlier. But I think the experiences you had, made you either not interested or may be overwhelmed. You have a hold on your current thoughts and how your past relationships worked and impacted you. I would suggest you talk to a therapist and find out your mental and emotional blocks. Once you resolve them, you should be able to become your best self. Then you will find the right partner for yourself. And once you meet the right person, the feelings will develop. If you are willing, we can talk in detail, and I can help you. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Take care of yourself.
