Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 24-year-old female and I have been suffering from shortness of breath and chest pain for the past two weeks. The doctor has prescribed me an inhaler for that. Is this because of gastritis or anxiety?

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have gone through your query and can understand your health concern.

It may be because of anxiety as you told me that you are alright when you are engaged in some work. But still, to rule out asthma I suggest you to get one pulmonary function test and chest X-ray done. The anxiety may be because of exam fear or stress due to studies. Before starting medicines for it, I would suggest you to try to overcome it by doing regular exercises, brisk walking for at least half an hour daily, meditation, and yoga. Try to engage your mind most of the time in work or any other activity. You can try mind relaxation exercises after consulting a psychologist. Think positive and try to avoid stressful conditions.

I hope this has helped you. Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
