Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I have had sinus problems for years. I have been using nasal drops to avoid breathing difficulty that results in headaches. I also have a nasal bump. What surgery would you suggest? Rhinoplasty is a cosmetic procedure, so it may not cure sinusitis. I also have had eye bags since I was a teenager, and now I am 23 years old. Everyone notices the eye bags, but I do not know the cause for its occurrence. Is there any connection of sinusitis with eye bags? Can surgery and treatment of sinusitis cure eye bags? Please help.
Thank you.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I have read your query, and I can understand your concern.
Sinuses are structures inside your face that are filled with air. When bacterial or viral infections and allergies irritate the lining, it causes them to get blocked and filled with fluid. Sinusitis is an inflammation, or swelling, of the tissue lining your sinuses. Treatment includes decongestants, antibiotics, steroids, cough medicine, antihistamines, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, and analgesics. Rhinoplasty is the shaping of the bone and cartilage to enhance the appearance or function of the nose. Surgery should only be considered if the above-mentioned treatment has failed.
I hope this helps you. Feel free to ask further queries.
Thank you.
