Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I sometimes feel like my heart has skipped a beat. It happens suddenly and goes away in a second like a beat is mismatched. It only happens once or twice in two to three days or a day. So it is not persistent. I am not obese. I neither smoke nor drink. I have been facing this since I was young. I have no difficulty in day-to-day work, no issue in running or hardworking. Also, I do not face any dizziness or fainting when this occurs. There is no family history of heart ailments. I suffer from general anxiety issues, which make me anxious and contribute to this more. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, I am not able to do an ECG test. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I passed carefully through your concern and would like to explain that those skipped beats may be exacerbated by anxiety. Coming to this point, I would recommend finding effective measures to control anxiety. Activities like cycling, swimming, yoga could be helpful in this regard. Also, reading and reflective thinking could alleviate increased stress. Maintaining your healthy lifestyle is the best way for better mental health too. I hope this helps. Let me know in case of any further questions. Kind regards.
