Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I had sleeping issues, and I had different medicines for the same. I was prescribed Zopiclone and Clonazepam, but they had no effect. I had taken Clonazepam more than the recommended sound but still could not sleep for more than 3 hours. So I had taken Clonazepam, Amitriptyline, Tramadol, and Paracetamol. Is it dangerous? Kindly help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I read your query and understand your concern.
I understand your concern, but taking these medications in inappropriate doses could be fatal. A medication like Clonazepam in large doses could affect the muscles of respiration and cause tolerance. Tramadol and Paracetamol are not medications for inducing sleep but, on the contrary, can cause insomnia.
The cause of insomnia should be identified :
1. Do you consume too much caffeine and nicotine?
2. Do you have thyroid gland problems?
3. Do you suffer from anxiety or depression?
4. Do you take any medications regularly?
I would suggest the following:
I hope this helps.
Thank you.
