Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 34-year-old male. I recently had a viral illness about 30 days ago. When I had it, my throat was sore, and I noticed this small whitish and yellow circle on the anterior tonsil pillar arch when I opened my mouth wide. I am concerned it was there prior, as it has not disappeared. It also has not grown. I am worried that it is cancerous. It does not hurt, my throat is not sore, and my tonsils are not swollen. I am very worried. I also do not smoke or drink alcohol. Please advise. Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

According to the picture (attachment removed for patient identity protection), your throat looks normal, and this circled small ulcer looks safe, not cancerous. The picture shows dark redness in your throat and anterior tonsillar pillars. Is this redness a colour effect? Or is it a real redness? If it is real, do you suffer from reflux as a burning sensation in your chest or stomach? Do you suffer from a bitter taste in your throat when waking up in the morning? Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for your answer. Are you referring to this picture attached? It may turn a tad red, but not that one picture red where I enhanced it. However, I do drink turmeric shots every morning. Perhaps that is irritating it? I do not have a burning sensation. For the ulcer- Is it odd for it not to be painful? It seems weird. It just showed up. Will it go away? Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

No, I mean the other picture (attachments removed for patient identity protection). No problem, as you do not have acid reflux. Painless ulcers are dangerous, but this spot in your throat does not look scary. A malignant ulcer is bigger with high, everted edges and a dirty yellow floor. Hard enlarged lymph glands near it also accompany malignant ulcers. I do not think that this spot is an ulcer at all. I think it is a remnant of an old infection. Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
